    Once you are a member, you may pass along membership to your immediate family or household member.

    Family includes:
    Spouse, Child, Sibling, Parent, Grandparent, Grandchild, Stepparent, Stepchild, Stepsibling, or Adoptive Relationships.

    Household includes:
    Persons living in the same residence maintaining a single economic unit.

    Geographic Areas
    North Okaloosa County
    Persons who live, work, worship or attend school in Okaloosa County north of the Shoal River Bridge.

    South Okaloosa County
    Persons who live, work, worship or attend school in specific areas of Shalimar, Fort Walton Beach, Florosa and Wynnehaven.

    Application is a simple petition letter requesting us to offer services to your employees or members. This letter is submitted to our Board of Directors, and the National Credit Union Administration, our government regulatory agency for approval. The letter must meet the following criteria:

    • Be on official letterhead
    • Addressed to our Board of Directors
    • Request that EFCU provide services
    • State the physical address of the work/meeting location(s)
    • State the number of employees/members
    • State the proximity to EFCU’s nearest full service branch
    • Signed by an authorized representative
    • State the signing representative’s title
    • Mail to EFCU at 838 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547
    • To the attention of Karen Franklin
    An association, church or organization must also include a copy of their charter or by-laws.

    Verify Identification
     Federal Law requires financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies anyone (member, joint owner, custodian, guardian, trustee, Power of Attorney) with access to financial accounts.  We require:
    • Social Security/Tax ID Number (must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien)
    • Date of birth
    • Current residential address
    • Valid photo and signature ID

     Regular Share Savings
      This is the membership account. The $5.00 minimum deposit is required to retain membership and all other services. Credit Union provides, at no cost to the member, life insurance on this account which matches the amount on deposit up to $2000, depending on the member’s age at time of deposit. Review handout for details.

    • Membership fee: None.
    • Free Checking: A checking account requires an initial $5.00 deposit. Once you have established membership switching to EFCU Free Checking is easy when you use our Switch Kit.
     Once A Member, Always A Member
      No need to close an account if the member leaves the area. Members may maintain their account, as long as they keep a minimum of $5.00, a good address, and make at least one transaction each year.
